Centre for experimental archaeology and archaeometry. A journey through time: 9th century BC - 11th century AD. Here you can live again as our ancestors did, watching the joints of wood of their houses or the heavy trusses that support them today like thousands years ago.

The Center starts its activities in 1987 in Civitella Cesi of Blera experimenting Villanovian and Etruscan forms of daily life (IX th and VIII th century B.C.) and, thanks to the high scientific quality of the programs here developped, Antiquitates became part of the projects of the European Historical and Archaelogical-Evironmental Park of Viterbo province, territory classified by the Community as S.C.I. (Community-interesting sites) for the high archaeological and naturalistic value. A village of huts, faithfully rebuilt according to the original prototype of the final bronze age, first iron age (Villanoviano), is surrounded by a fence whose function was, and continues to be, strictly defensive and it is puposely equipped to give accommodation.

A laboratory is divided into different workshops: the glass-furnace, the bronze-furnace, the grindstone, the turning-lathe, the loom, all instruments that take you back through time to live an unforgettable cultural experience, the experience of the ancient daily life.
