Become a Member
Members of EXARC may be institutional members or individual members.
Institutional Members are legal persons: archaeological open-air museums or non-commercial institutions actively involved in and endorsing the objectives of EXARC. Please fill out the Registration Form for Institutional Members.
Individual Members are natural persons with a professional affiliation with or involvement in archaeological open-air museums, as well as persons active in the field of experimental archaeology. Please fill out the Registration Form for Individual Members.
If you do not know which memberschip you should choose:
Individual Members usually are interested (semi) professionals when Institutional Members often are more active. Benefits for Institutional Members are:
| • | 2 hours free support / advice from the secretariat. |
| • | An extensive presentation on our website, more exposure, also in future developments like our online Event Calendar. |
| • | A place in EU cooperation projects if wished for. |
| • | All staff members have free entrance to the museums of other EXARC members. |
| • | As token of institutional membership, one gets a shield to be hung near the entrance. |
Once we have accepted your membership, you will have to pay the contribution fee.
The prices are as follows:
the contribution | the contribution fee 2013 | |
| EUR | EUR | |
| Institutional Members West | € 100 | € 100 |
| Institutional Members East | € 40 | € 40 |
| Individual Members West | € 50 | € 50 |
| Individual Members East | € 30 | € 30 |
| Student Members all | € 30 | € 30 |
Procedure
| • | When we have received your Registration Form, the nearby members are informed about you wanting to become member. This is both meant as a good introduction as well as inquiring if there is a real and serious reason not to accept you – this hardly ever is the case. |
| • | The opinion of the members as well as the information you gave is handed to the EXARC Board who decides. |
Once you have been accepted, you will get an invoice for the membership fee.
Besides that, you will get:
| • | A list of addresses of the members and affiliates; |
| • | Our latest EXARC Journal; |
| • | A member’s pass with which you can visit other members’ places and identify yourself as member. |
After you are accepted
| • | Please send us recent documentation about your organisation and relevant activities, either as hard copy or digitally (preferred). This can be PR material or a public year report for example. |
| • | Please add a link to our website exarc.net. If you like, you can use our logo. See Benefits & Obligation page for more info. |
